CASTING CALL

Abby works three jobs. Her bills keep going up, the car keeps breaking down and her 12 year old keeps growing. When she’s summoned to school to talk about her son’s behaviour, her carefully constructed world teeters.

Baxter’s teacher fears he’s been radicalised by the manosphere. Abby’s astounded: all she’s ever tried to do is equip her son to stand up for women’s rights. Head teacher Sam swoops in for support. But Abby and Sam have unfinished business. How far will Abby go to protect what matters most? 

A darkly funny new play exploring women’s choices in a man’s world. 

SHINJUKU will run from Friday 7 to Saturday 15 August at Greenside Venue (George Street) from 19:35 (20:25) in the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

We are holding auditions for the role of Sam on Saturday 28 February at 3pm at Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Edinburgh. Alternative audition times can be arranged if needed.

Sam is male and has a playing age of 40 to 55.
